Our History

Any red-blooded American car-guy having grown up and lived during the 1950’s/early 60’s (the golden era of hot-rodding and customization) would have certainly been involved in model car building, slot car racing, and poring over the little pages… Rod & Custom, Car Craft, and others. Annual visits to the new – car dealerships and the anticipated yearly indoor custom car shows helped to fuel our passions for modified machinery. Our goal was to have our very own stripped down/ hopped-up hot rod, or a low-riding, restyled custom car.

As we matured, there were often two paths taken, modified cars either became a life-long hobby, building cars, scrounging for parts, and making like minded friends along the way, the less-traveled road, was to turn a passion for all things automotive into a chosen vocation.

Gordon (Gordy) Kaiser chose the later path when he realized his vision of owning a hot-rod/restoration aftermarket parts company.

The Early Years

The business was launched in 1976, as the street rodding hobby/industry was in it’s formative years, and was known as “The Repro Shop”. Located on South Park Ave, in southern Buffalo, NY it was housed in a 2,100 square foot block building and employed 1-2 employees.

The focus was on building, service, paint and body, and the Repro Shop was a distributor for Total Performance cars and parts.

This location was utilized through 1987, when it was apparent that there was a need for larger facilities.

The Company Evolves

From South Buffalo, our company relocated to Clarence, NY a more rural area east of Buffalo, NY and equally accessible to our neighbors and customers in Southern Ontario.

The continued focus was on buying and selling of classic and custom cars, sales of new and used vintage and hot rod parts and all manner of small-to-large fabrication and car building.

The business during this period, now became known as “Klassy Kar Sales and Hot Rod Parts”, and has served us well to the present time.

The Present

As the business continued to evolve and grew, many of our customers, both new and repeat looked to us to take on longer-term, more labor-intensive jobs, from chassis work, to custom paint and body, to complete builds from early V8 Fords thru sixties era mustangs, trucks, and more.

We have enjoyed continuous growth and earned numerous industry accolades during our 14+ year facility at 12072 Main Road in Akron, NY, an eastern suburb of Buffalo, NY.

This 5,000 square foot operation, allows us to simultaneously build 3-4 long term projects, along with the needed areas for new, used, and aftermarket parts.

At any time, we have 3-4 employees, specialized in chassis, suspension, drive-train, welding and fabricating, and body/custom paint work.

We work closely with area upholstery businesses to service all our customer requests.

Our experience and passion for the business has resulted in many awards, notably at Detroit Autorama and other ISCA shows.

We have competed for “Goodguys Hot Rod of the Year” twice for our ’32 Roadster and ’40 Ford convertible. Furthermore, Street Rodder magazine has selected our 1940 Ford in 2015, and our 1932 Ford Coupe in 2016 for the “Top 100” distinction.

Feel free to peruse elsewhere on our website for pics of our award- winning rides and some of our current “in progress” builds from 1932 Fords – to 40 Rag tops – to Mustangs, and a 1972 Chevy C10 Pickup.
