Our Story

For nearly five decades, Klassy Kar Sales has been a family-built business rooted in a passion for hot rods, classic cars, and craftsmanship.

What began as a lifelong love of custom cars and the golden era of hot-rodding has grown into one of Western New York’s most trusted names in classic car restoration and custom builds.

Founded by Gordon “Gordy” Kaiser in 1976, the business started as The Repro Shop — a small operation in South Buffalo focused on paint, body work, fabrication, and hot rod parts. During the early years of street rodding, Gordy turned a passion into a profession, building not just cars, but relationships and a reputation for quality workmanship.

Any car guy who grew up during the 1950s and early ’60s — the golden era of hot-rodding and customization — knows exactly how it starts. Model cars, slot car racing, dog-eared copies of Rod & Custom and Car Craft, annual trips to the dealerships and the indoor custom car shows. That passion for modified machinery never left Gordy Kaiser. He built a business around it.

As demand grew, the business relocated to Clarence, New York and evolved into Klassy Kar Sales and Hot Rod Parts — expanding into complete builds, fabrication, classic car sales, restoration work, and aftermarket parts. More rural, more room, and equally accessible to customers throughout Western New York and Southern Ontario.

Over the years the company continued to grow through hard work, word of mouth, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

Today, Klassy Kar remains proudly family owned and operated. Kevin Kaiser now leads the day-to-day operations as lead builder and painter, continuing the standards and craftsmanship that have defined the shop for generations. Alongside Gordon, and with the legacy of the Kaiser family — including Keith, whose passion and dedication remain part of the shop’s story — the focus remains the same: building exceptional vehicles with attention to detail and pride in every project.

Operating from our Akron, New York facility, we specialize in complete restorations, custom builds, paint and body work, fabrication, chassis work, drivetrains, and full project management from start to finish.

From early Fords and muscle cars to trucks, customs, and one-of-a-kind builds, we’ve been fortunate to create award-winning vehicles and long-lasting relationships with customers throughout the United States and Canada.

Our experience and passion for the craft has resulted in recognition at some of the most prestigious shows in the country — including Detroit Autorama and ISCA events. We have competed for the Goodguys Hot Rod of the Year twice, with our ’32 Roadster and ’40 Ford Convertible. Street Rodder magazine selected our 1940 Ford in 2015 and our 1932 Ford Coupe in 2016 for their “Top 100” distinction.
