1963 Car Craft Cover Car
Resurrection Project
From magazine cover to forgotten field car… and back again.
In April of 1963, this custom car appeared on the cover of Car Craft Magazine with the headline:
“Debut of a Champion – Winner from the Empire State.”
At the height of the custom car era, it represented some of the wildest styling and craftsmanship of its time. Then, somewhere along the way, it disappeared.
For decades the car sat forgotten in a field, exposed to the elements and slowly fading into history. Rust covered the body. Parts disappeared. Time took its toll.
Most people would have seen a lost cause.
We saw an opportunity to save a piece of hot rod history.
